Accommodations

The Pig And Whistle provides Deluxe Double Rooms and a Deluxe Twin Room, each with a private ensuite featuring a walk-in shower. Guest rooms include a hairdryer, an electric kettle for tea and coffee, and a large smart TV with streaming apps. Rooms are accessed through a separate entrance behind the pub, limiting noise from the bar below.

Parking and Access

On-site free private parking is available, with a secure area behind electric gates accessible via a key fob. Guests must register their vehicle registration number at the bar on arrival to avoid a penalty charge. The inn is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with difficulty climbing stairs, as all rooms are on the first floor.

Dining and Nearby Amenities

The pub below serves food and drinks, with staff able to advise on gluten-free options from the menu. Breakfast is not offered on-site, but a Gail's cafe is a 1-minute walk away, and a Waitrose supermarket sits on the main High Street. Boating, kayaking, and canoeing are available in the surrounding area.

Guest Services

Staff have been noted for going above and beyond, including the landlord driving a guest to collect their bags. The pub has a beer garden area where guests can have a drink. A key fob that opens the room and the building's gates provides access control.

Highlights

Parking: Free secure parking behind electric gates

Rooms: Deluxe Double & Twin rooms with walk-in showers

Transport: 5 min walk to Mortlake station, 20 min to Waterloo

Location: 2.9 km from Kew Gardens, 18 km from Heathrow

Staff: Landlord provided a ride to collect baggage

“The Pig And Whistle benefits from a friendly East Sheen setting near Richmond Park, and its comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms offer a quiet retreat; the staff's welcoming nature is a highlight. I think that the lack of on-site breakfast, though, might be a slight drawback for some. Overall, it's a personable London stay.”

the noise levels were a real issue. i was in a room right above the pub, and the music went on way too late! it was impossible to sleep before it stopped. then, i noticed there weren't enough towels. it was annoying to have to ask for more.
